Desiree Moore, MH

Director of Business Development

At seven years old, Desiree knew she wanted to be a teacher. She spent hours designing her mock classroom, drawing lesson plans on cardboard, and forcing her sister to play the part of the student. It wasn’t until later in life that she realized her real passion was not as much teaching as it was learning. Desiree describes marketing as an everlasting experiment. Since the beginning of her career, marketing has been embedded in her experiences. Today, Desiree leads Peregrine’s marketing efforts, including creating and deploying Peregrine’s website, creating key messages and strategies, conception and execution of campaigns, marketing data analysis and reporting, strategic and tactical planning and budgeting, content creation, and more. A natural educator, Desiree continues to provide tools, resources, guidance, and training to her team.

Desiree is a service-focused leader who takes a multi-perspective approach to achieve Peregrine’s shared goals. She thrives at Peregrine because the organization promotes continuous learning, innovation, and finding creative solutions to difficult programs. Desiree describes herself as genuine, resilient, kind, and hard-working. Prior to being hired at Peregrine in 2020, Desiree worked in K-12 education, higher education, and nonprofit. Her experience includes teaching at the secondary and post-secondary level, workforce development, college admissions, grant writing, fundraising, project management, storytelling, and leadership. Desiree has a Masters of Humanities from Tiffin University and a Bachelor of Liberal Arts from Colorado State University.

In 2021, Desiree and her family moved from the western slope of Colorado to Gillette, Wyoming so to join her team at Peregrine’s headquarters. In her previous community, Desiree took an active role. She sat on the board for the local senior social center, helped her school district create a program for homeschooled youth, was the guest or keynote speaker at various events, and volunteered her time to provide financial literacy education to affected populations. In 2019, she was recognized as one of the Top 20 under 40 in Moffat County. She is excited to find her place in Gillette and continue to change the lives of others.

In Desiree’s free time, she funnels her creative energy into a variety of projects. She enjoys creative writing and has published two short stories in a small literary magazine. Desiree spends the rest of her time painting, refinishing furniture, and cooking delicious meals with her two daughters and life-partner.
